Peotry Should

 

Poetry should take me back

Back to where my mother was from

To tell her mother to stay

They needed them

 

Poetry should give people

But only most

A reality check since they need that the most

 

Poetry should paint me a gift

A gift that every one needs

And that gift is PEACE

 

Poetry should show me an act

An act of activism

Everywhere in the world

But that act begins with you

 

Poetry should call 911

And not charge for an emergency

Cause if you are broke and die

Who’s paying for that

 

Poetry should give me a reason to write

But the only reason I write

Is to fight about what’s right!!!
